The UVCB will partner with Upper Valley Strong [www.uvstrong.org] for their annual winter concert. UV Strong represents 50+ organizations that are providing information, help, and assistance for victims of Hurricane Irene. The Upper Valley Community Band, based in the Upper Connecticut River Valley, is made up of residents within a 75-mile radius of the “tri-town” area of Lebanon/Hanover, N.H., and White River Jct., Vt. The selection of music performed by this 70-plus-member ensemble consists of traditional marches, show tunes, jazz medleys, some “oldies but goodies,” and patriotic pieces. The band has represented the Upper Valley throughout New England, participated in a concert tour in Austria and Germany, and have been the musical ambassadors for New Hampshire and Vermont at the Festival of States in Washington, DC. The band is very proud of its rich heritage, and it continues to be a band of the community.
